Mykola Tomenko: The Verkhovna Rada shall assist Local Budgets during the Next Session
At the briefing in the Parliament, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, summed up the work of the seventh session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of VI convocation, and expressed his opinion regarding the next session of the Ukrainian Parliament.
Mykola Tomenko reminded that the eighth session of the sixth convocation shall open on February 1 and would be adjourned in July 2011. He is convinced that the emotional character of the coming session depends on the events on February 3, as "despite the discussions everyone is aware of the fact that unless 300 votes appear on display, no one can state that the elections will be held on October 28, 2012."
Among significant issues on the agenda, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada singled out the constitutional reforms in Ukraine. A new election Law is also connected with the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
Among the bills that will bear a great impact on the destiny of the Ukrainian nation, Mykola Tomenko named the pension reform, which should be adopted during the next session. According to M. Tomenko, the parliament received another initiative of the President of Ukraine (1535 pages) - the bill on amendments to the Law on the Customs Tariff of Ukraine.
Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine M. Tomenko deems necessary to amend the Budget for 2011 during the next session. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada fixed the norm, whereby it would be revised after the first quarter of 2011. It is essential for the local budgets. The Deputy Chairman is convinced hat there are no funds in the local budgets for the serious projects connected with public health, sports, improvement of transport infrastructure, except the regions funded under the Euro-2012 projects. Finally, the Deputy Chairman stressed that the Verkhovna Rada shall assist local budgets during the next session.
